This first BioBlitz was originally organised by the former Agenzia Regionale Parchi now Direzione Ambiete e Sistemi Naturali) of the Lazio Region, one of the partners of CSMON-LIFE. The project was just started, and during the event the experts of CSMON-LIFE contributed to the success of the BioBlitz. Communication and Dissemination materials of CSMON-LIFe were distributed to all the participants.

The BioBlitz was attended by 300 citizens, supported by 50 researchers and 50 volunteers. During the event information on 350 infrageneric taxa were collected.
